WELCOME TO Latinum, Latin language learning podcast from London.- OVER 5,000,000 AUDIO FILES DOWNLOADED SINCE MAY 2007-
" Example before the rule" is a great principle of language learning. Viva voce methods save time, rules are grasped more quickly. Systematic use of viva voce Latin leads to rapidly gaining the required intuitive familiarity with Latin sentence construction, and the learning of correct vowel quantity from the beginning. Vocabulary is learned in a more natural way. The intention is to use the resources offered here to get good enough to actually get to think in the language, to live in it. This is the Renaissance Method.
The recorded lessons from Adler's Textbook, " A Practical Grammar of the Latin Language" form the core of the podcast. Adler's book can be downloaded for free from Google Books, who especially re-scanned this important textbook for us.
Vale.

Hello Evan,
Thank you for all this wonderful work you have done. I'm trying to teach myself Latin, so I was over the moon when I found your site. However, I'm a little confused about where to start.
I've downloaded the first four lessons, but after that, where do I go?
Hugs and thanks again,
Madeleine
Hi there,
Read the FAQ, it explains how to proceed.
It is quite simple, really, download the two Adler pdf files from google books from the link on the home page of Latinum.
Then, start to work your way through the Adler lessons. I start on chapter two of Adler's textbook.
If you persevere, you should be able to read Latin quite well after a year - it will take you about a year to get through the first 50 lessons I have posted so far, maybe less if you grasp things quickly.
Enjoy, and do let me know how you get on.
Evan.
I'm on what I presume is the home page for this site http://latinum.mypodcast.com and I see no link to an FAQ or achives or "start here" or anything like that. You could make this clearer.
These things are clear as daylight, all in the right hand column. I will make a note at the top of the page to check out the sidebar.
Evan,
I had to scroll down quite a distance (maybe it's just my browser) to find the FAQ though I see you have marked it off more clearly now. Still, why not a button up at the top of the page, next to the Latinum logo that says "start here"?
Thanks for your suggestion. I have added a link to the FAQ at the top of the site.
Dear EVAN,
I have not CC, how can I pay the contribution, in any other way?
thank you, beautifull job.
Richard
If you click on the FAQ link, you will see I have added more info to the 'donations' section for people who have no credit card. On the bottom right of the purple sidebar on that page, there is now a 'contact latinum' link.
My address is there.
Evan.
Thank you! I hope that I have the disciplin to teach my self Latin.
P.S. there is only one problem,
Bulgaria never was part of the USSR!
So please correct this mistake.
Български (Former USSR) is an insult to any Bulgarian. Correct it to Български!!!
