I have made a trial of singing out the conjugation of the verb to love. This helps to clarify where the stresses are, and also which vowels are long and short. I think that after listening to this, when you come across a verb from this first conjugation in an unstressed text, you'll be more likely to pronounce it correctly. That's the theory anyway. I'd be interested in your comments.
