the words are going too fast for me. I do like the idea of learning a whole group of similar words though.

Hello,
Yes, in the beginning, when you start to learn these words, they will appear to go very quickly. They are not actually read quickly at all. Were they to be slower, however, once you started to become familiar with them, the slowness would become unbearable. I am speaking at normal speed, but the pauses between the words have been removed.
The other reason for this, is that otherwise this process would take too long. The idea is to listen to these recordings, and catch a word here and there, until you have caught all of them. The reading itself is not particularly fast, however, you are unused to it.
As you listen to these more, you will see that they no longer seem as fast as they did at the beginning.
